Pacers give Vogel winning start

The Indiana Pacers reacted to coach Jim O’Brien’s sacking to provide interim coach Frank Vogel with a 104-93 NBA Eastern Conference win over the Toronto Raptors.

Under-fire Roy Hibbert managed 24 points and 11 rebounds to finally show some form.

The New Jersey Nets enjoyed a comfortable 115-99 win over the Denver Nuggets in Newark despite Carmelo Anthony – subject of a trade tug-of-war between the teams – scoring 37 for the losing side.

Brook Lopez’s 27 points and 18 assists from Devin Harris were key to the Nets’ win.

The Miami Heat were 117-90 winners against the Cleveland Cavaliers as Dwayne Wade’s 34 points saw the Cavs slip to a 21st successive defeat.

Wade’s strong first half gave the Heat a strong platform with LeBron James adding 24 points and eight assists.

The Memphis Grizzlies’ Mike Conley edged Orlando’s Dwight Howard as the Magic suffered a narrow 100-97 loss on the road.

X Factor News – Matt Cardle’s Sore Throat

There has been some X Factor drama on Thursday with rumours circulating that the X Factor betting outright favourite Matt Cardle might miss Saturday’s live semi-final due to a terrible sore throat. If this turns out to be true, our X Factor betting might be in for a bit of a shake up.

It’s not clear what will happen if Cardle is unable to perform on Saturday, as I don’t have my X Factor rulebook to hand, but could there be a possibility of no eviction this week and some kind of extra eviction next week?

Time will tell on that score. As things stand Mary Byrne is our favourite to be eliminated from the X Factor on Saturday, and we think the Cher Lloyd is the next more likely to be given the boot.

Of late, Cashman has dealt with more of what he called “pressure” and “mudslinging,” knowing the Yankees are weeks away from reporting to Spring Training with a weaker starting rotation than they’d like.
