Friday’s NBA schedule will feature three games on the ESPN networks starting with Game 3 action between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks taking the floor at Madison Square Garden on ESPN and MSG at 7:00pm EST. The Magic vs Hawks will tip-off at 8:00pm EST on ESPN2 or Fox Sports South and will be followed by the Lakers vs Hornets on ESPN. Vegas odds and online sportsbooks have opened with the Knicks slight 3.5-point basketball betting favorites at home in NBA picks vs the Celtics for Game 3 of the 2011 playoffs with an over/under betting total of 190.5.

Bookmakers also have listed New York as -170 favorites at home in money line NBA playoffs odds to win Game 3 vs Boston +150 for Friday’s game on ESPN. The Celtics will take the floor at Madison Square Garden with a 2-0 lead in the series following Tuesday’s 96-93 win in Boston for Game 2. The Celtics were able to hold off the Knicks by 3-points but couldn’t cover the spread as 6.5-point to go 38-42-2 ATS in NBA picks for the season. Rajon Rondo lit up the net with a playoff career-high 30-points and 7-assists in Tuesday’s win while Paul Pierce added 20-points and Ray Allen chipped in with 18-points. The Celtics should have the confidence to pull off the victory on the road having gone 23-18 when playing on the road this season and 10-2 overall when playing New York at MSG.

Carmelo Anthony did everything he could to lead the Knicks to victory in Game 2 tying a playoff career high of 42-points, 17-rebounds and 6-assists but New York only shot 32-90 from the floor and had to settle for the 3-point loss. New York was able to cover the spread however as 6.5-point underdogs in NBA picks to go46-34-2 ATS for the season. The outcome of Game 2 could have been different if Chauncey Billups and Amare Stoudemire were available for the game. Stoudemire netted 4-points and 5-rebounds while fighting off back spasms and sitting out of the second half while Billups sat out with a strained left knee and is doubtful to play in Friday night’s game on ESPN. The Knicks have gone 23-18 when playing at Madison Square Garden but are still just 6-14 ATS when playing the Celtics at MSG.
